A car accident resulted in the death of two people and injured four more over the weekend. The four car accident happened in southern New Jersey and sent two of the people involved to a hospital to be treated for their injuries. The man whose car crossed into oncoming traffic on the highway, causing the accident, and his passenger were killed in the crash.
Although the injuries sustained by the other victims of the accident are not considered life threatening, according to reports, they may still face a significant hospital bill and a long recovery. Broken bones, back and neck pain can all be considered non-life threatening injuries but complications and recovery from the injuries can be long term.
People who suffer from back and neck injuries may face a lifetime of rehabilitation and physical therapy. Those who have broken bones from a New Jersey car accident might be forced to undergo surgery and relearn certain tasks. They could also face flexibility and mobility issues for the rest of their lives.
Although injuries sustained from accidents may not threaten a person's life, the can certainly alter the person's life. When another person's actions cause harm in a car accident, insurance companies sometimes try to quickly settle claims in hopes of paying less than might be actually necessary to compensate for injuries. Hospital bills, rehabilitation and long-term care all add up quickly and a car accident shouldn't mean the victim has to alter their lifestyle because they have to pay off medical bills.
